About

Kelly Koteles has over 15 years of experience working with over 60 different Industries in the small business area.

She is familiar with the needs of small businesses from starting up and registering the LLC all the way through bookkeeping and accounting needs to tax returns and even dissolutions. She has been known as the ‘RITA Whisperer’ for her ability to assist with tax assessments by local governments and payroll withholding agencies and her ability to resolve those favorably for her clients. She has recently decided to focus on specific industries in order to better provide services germane to those industries.

Kelly graduated from Kent State University as a Presidential Scholar in 2007, where she has three degrees: a B.S. in German Translation, a B.A. in International Relations, and a B.B.A. in Accounting (with a minor in International Business). She then followed this up with a MBA from Cleveland State University. In addition to being fluent in German, she is also fluent in French and Swiss German, and can understand a handful of several other languages, including legalese. She is CPA eligible and is working on her EA designation.

When not playing with numbers and speaking in other languages, Kelly enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and daughter. They have 4 cats and a garden that love care and attention as well. When by herself and in her spare time (ha!) Kelly loves to read fiction, non-fiction, and work on various cross stitch projects.

Behind the ‘Breithorn’ Name

You may be wondering about where the name Breithorn came from. Kelly spent a year-and-a-half overseas in Switzerland in her high school and college days. She developed a very close relationship and cultural affinity for the country during this time. When deciding on a name for her business, Kelly wanted to use something that represented the values and norms of Switzerland – specifically the neutrality and the cross that is associated with the country. She chose the name ‘Breithorn’, one of the names of the mountains in Switzerland, to represent this concept. The name Breithorn means ‘wide mountain’ or ‘broad mountain’ and is right next to the most famous mountain in Switzerland, the Matterhorn. Breithorn is representative of Kelly’s ability to provide a broad range of services while protecting your interests and tax dollars and supporting you in your business goals.
